Grab some co-workers and join Teri King and 96.5 KOIT for Volunteer Day at Second Harvest Food Bank in San Jose. On Tuesday August 28th, we’ll start the day at noon with a delicious lunch and then step into the Warehouse and begin sorting food. From Daly City to Gilroy and beyond, Second Harvest Food Bank distributes more than 1 million pounds of nutritious food each week to low income people. Let’s help them get the food to families in need.
Thank you for your interest in sorting food at our Cypress Center at 4001 N. First St, San Jose, CA 95134 | (408) 266-8866
Volunteers are extremely important to Second Harvest Food Bank and we are grateful for all your time, hard work, and support in the fight against hunger! But there are a few simple rules we ask that you follow to make the most of your time and ensure your safety
The dress code at the Food Bank is casual and comfortable. However, to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met, please follow the requirements listed below.
- Comfortable, safe footwear is absolutely required: sneakers, work shoes, or boots. Volunteers wearing high heels, open-toed shoes, or sandals will not be allowed to volunteer.
- Long pants only and no tank tops.
- Dress warmly in the winter – layers are suggested, as are jeans, sweatshirts, etc.
- Dress lightly in the summer – but please, no bare arms or shorts.
We also ask that you sign a form. Feel free to fill it out ahead of time and send it in, or plan on signing one when you arrive.
OK! Now that we’ve got that out of the way, we’d love to get you scheduled to volunteer at the food bank. You will hear from us to confirm you are part of our group.
