A multistate E. coli outbreak linked to romaine lettuce grown in Arizona has spread to 31 new victims, 3 new states and proving to be a very potent strain of bacteria. If you have romaine lettuce at home that you bought at the supermarket, don’t eat it, just throw it away. Also be careful ordering that ceasar salad in your favorite restaurant, unless you can confirm the lettuce is not from the Yuma, Arizona growing region, don’t eat it. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say that 84 people have fallen ill in 19 states. Of those 42 have been hospitalized and 9 have developed a type of kidney failure. Don’t take a chance, avoid Romaine Lettuce unless you’re 100% positive it’s grown here in California.
