The Disney Family Museum was built in an old barracks in the Presidio with unparallelled views of the GGB and Chrissy field. It is the brain child of Diane Disney Miller, Walt’s daughter. The museum was build with state of the art technology and opened 7 years ago on the main parade grounds. Why San Francisco? Diane lived here and also owned the Silverado Vineyards in Napa. Over the Years Diane collected many of her family memorabilia and kept it in storage. The Museum has 10 galleries all depicting the history of Walt Disney and his family life as well as his vision and career accomplishments. There are many special features and educational programs featured through out the year. The average visit takes about 3 hours. There is something to see for all ages!
