Youtube Is Going Vertical (Finally!)

Do you ever hit play on a Youtube video and notice those black bars on both sides of the picture? The reason that happens is because when the person recored it they were holding their phone vertically in stead of sideways. The way Youtube makes up for that is by filling the empty space with darkness. Because of this you can never really see whats happening very well and everything looks really small. With the popularity of apps like Snapchat, which encourages vertical photo and videos, they have seen a rise in these types of videos on Youtube. So as of Tuesday those black bars are going away and they are making it possible for you to watch vertical videos on your phone and desktop. On top of that they have added a couple more functionality updates that will hopefully make your navigation easier. Check out what they are doing in the video below!
